Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents arrested New York City mayoral candidate Brad Lander on June 17 “for assaulting law enforcement and impeding a federal officer,” according to a statement by the Department of Homeland Security (DHS).

Video footage, posted to Lander’s X account by his wife, Meg Barnette, shows Lander gripping the arm of an unnamed illegal immigrant as ICE agents attempted to pull the men apart.
