New York state plans to offer up to $75 million in grants for local police departments, community groups, and houses of worship in response to a surge in anti-Semitic attacks and other hate crimes amid the Israel–Hamas conflict, Gov. Kathy Hochul said on Oct. 31.

Ms. Hochul said in a public address that she would deploy “all available state resources” to prevent the escalation of “hate and bias incidents” in the city and ensure the safety of New Yorkers.
