Federal Agent Fatally Shot Armed Man in Minneapolis: DHS

The agent fired defensive shots during a struggle to disarm the man, DHS said. The victim has been identified as Alex Pretti, a 37-year-old ICU nurse.

A federal officer fatally shot an armed man during a struggle to disarm him in Minneapolis on Jan. 24, according to the Department of Homeland Security (DHS).

On Saturday morning, Border Patrol officers were attempting to arrest an illegal immigrant wanted for “violent assault” when an armed 37-year-old approached them with a 9 mm semi-automatic handgun.
