The Department of Justice (DOJ) has charged four Iranian nationals for their alleged role in a murder-for-hire plot targeting Masih Alinejad, an Iranian-American activist critical of the Islamic Republic.
The new charges are part of an existing case in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York. Federal prosecutors filed the superseding indictment filed on Oct. 17, and the DOJ revealed the new charges on Oct. 22.
