Conservative Fight Against ‘Red Flag’ Laws Slows Washington’s Gun-Control Push

With the Republican Party’s conservative base opposing a potential federal “red flag” gun confiscation bill, President Donald Trump may be reconsidering backing the controversial measure.

Trump initially offered his stated support for a theoretical bill championed by Sens. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.) and John Thune (R-S.D.), which would provide financial incentives for states to install measures to disarm potentially dangerous people.
