A California man was found guilty of murder and four additional counts of driving under the influence, by a Sacramento County jury Dec. 11, after he crashed into a motorcycle last year, killing the cyclist and severely injuring her husband.

Jonathan Lindow, 52, had five previous DUI-related charges, according to a statement from the Sacramento District Attorney’s office.

The crash occurred Nov. 9, 2022, killing Lindsay Crawford. Her husband suffered a fractured collarbone and vertebrae among other injuries, the DA’s office said.

At the time, Mr. Lindow submitted to a blood test, where his blood alcohol level was .23 percent—far over the legal limit of .08%.

Additionally, three weeks prior to the incident on Oct. 14, 2022, Mr. Lindow was stopped for speeding in Folsom, California, when his blood alcohol content level was .20 percent.

During his previous DUI arrests, Mr. Lindow was provided with what’s known as the Watson Advisement, which informs that driving under the influence might lead to a charge or murder if someone is killed as a result, according the DA’s statement.

He faces a maximum sentence of 23 years to life in prison. His sentencing is set for Jan. 12, 2024.
