Chris Magnus has resigned from the role of U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) commissioner, the White House announced late on Nov. 12, amid record numbers of illegal immigrants entering the United States from Mexico.

President Joe Biden accepted the resignation, White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre said in a statement.
