President Joe Biden and former President Donald Trump have not spoken since around Inauguration Day, said White House press secretary Jen Psaki on Friday.

Trump left a letter to Biden on his way out, according to Biden, who called it “very generous.” Biden did not elaborate on its contents.

“I don’t have any update. I don’t have any calls to report on. There are no calls to report on, I should say. And I don’t have any update on the letter,” she reporters Friday.

Since then, Trump has made very few public statements and has moved back into his Mar-a-Lago residence in Florida.

Hours before the Jan. 20 inauguration, the former president praised his administration’s record.

“I hope they don’t raise your taxes. But if they do, I told you so,” Trump quipped. The president also said to “remember us,” and “we'll be back in some form.”

On Thursday, in perhaps a sign of things to come, Trump met with House GOP Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.) in Florida. According to Trump’s team, the two had a “good and cordial” meeting.

“Trump’s popularity has never been stronger than it is today,” it said in a statement, “and his endorsement means more than perhaps any endorsement at any time.” Trump now will work with McCarthy on boosting the GOP in the House races.

The two “worked very well together in the last election and picked up at least 15 seats when most predicted it would be the opposite,” Trump’s team wrote. “They will do so again, and the work has already started.”

Also in the White House briefing, Psaki said Biden would sign immigration orders next and will visit the Department of State next week. And Robert Malley, who was a top adviser to former President Barack Obama, will be Biden’s special envoy for Iran, Psaki said.
