The Department of Transportation’s Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration investigation into a deadly Indiana crash involving an illegal immigrant trucker has resulted in four additional trucking companies shutting down, Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy said on March 12.

The latest update puts the total number of trucking companies being put out of service, due to this incident, at six. The crash, which occurred on Feb. 3, happened after a semi-truck driven by Bekzhan Beishekeev, a 30-year-old national of Kyrgyzstan, swerved into oncoming traffic and struck a van in a head-on collision, according to a Feb. 5 statement from the Department of Homeland Security (DHS).
