More details on the possible cause of death for John Heard, the longtime actor who died in 2017, were revealed on Monday, Jan. 8, according to a report.

Heard, 71, died in July, and according to TMZ, he had Tramadol, Oxycodone, Oxymorphone, Xanax, Buprenorphine, Fentanyl, and Hydromorphone in his system at the time of death.

“It’s important to note Heard had back surgery 2 days before his death, and some of these drugs are commonly used to alleviate pain,” TMZ said. There was an apparent attempt to revive Heard via Narcan, an opioid-reversal agent.

A medical examiner said that he had died from a heart attack, but the toxicology report was recently obtained by the website. “The manner of death is natural,” reads a statement from the coroner’s office in August 2017, People reported.

Heard is best-known for playing the father, Peter McCallister, in “Home Alone” along with roles in dozens of other films, including “Gladiator,” “The Pelican Brief,” “White Chicks,” “NCIS: Los Angeles,” and “The Trip to Bountiful.”

“John was a wonderful person and such an incredible talent,” his manager said in August, according to People. “Only a small core group of family and friends knew just how generous and caring John was. He will be missed very much.”
