A professional football player has been arrested in California after allegedly breaking into a house and refusing to let the woman inside leave.

Brandon Browner was arrested on Sunday afternoon near Azusa and hit with a number of charges, including kidnapping, burglary, and false imprisonment, police officers told NBC.

According to the La Verne Police Department, Browner broke into the house through a locked window around 10 a.m. Sunday morning and physically forced the woman back into her house when she tried to escape.

Browner fled before officers arrived, taking a Rolex watch valued at $20,000.

Browner had a previous relationship with the victim and had been arrested for domestic violence against her in May, reported NBC. He was charged with violating a restraining order.

Browner, 33, was a cornerback in the NFL, for about five seasons, playing for the Denver Broncos, New Orleans Saints, Seattle Seahawks, and New England Patriots.

He won Super Bowls with both the Seahawks and Patriots, but was released by Seattle in 2016 during the preseason and hasn’t played since.

Browner has been arrested multiple times in the past several years, including for allegedly possessing cocaine.
