A plane landing at Chicago’s O’Hare International Airport slid off the runway on Friday afternoon amid icy conditions.

United Airlines confirmed United Flight 734 from San Francisco to Chicago had “partially rolled” off the runway, reported NBC. Fire officials said the Boeing 737 had skidded into snow-covered grass.

Passenger Don Dodge said the landing felt pretty normal, despite the slide.

“Honestly we didn’t even realize we were sliding off the runway. It was so gentle it felt normal,” Dodge told Fox.

“Until the captain came on and said, ‘Remain in your seats with seatbelts fastened.’ We looked out the window and said, ‘Whoa, we’re not on the runway, we’re off in the snow.'”

Emergency officials attended to the scene, helping passengers disembark.

Dodge added that shuttles were transporting passengers from the plane to the terminal.

No injures were reported.
