Two teenage girls from New Jersey died in a car accident on their way home following their prom over the weekend, according to reports on Monday.

Daisia Sulton, 17, and her passenger, 15-year-old Mikayla Mosley, died after Sulton lost control of her Chrysler PT Cruiser around 3:45 a.m. on Saturday on Route 49 in Maurice River Township, located about 50 miles away from Philadelphia, ABC News reported.

Their car struck a tree, also injuring two others, State Police Sgt. Jeffrey Flynn said.

Zyiah Stocks, 16, was hospitalized and is in critical condition, and Jada Barriento, 17, was listed in stable condition.

Friends and family said on social media that the two girls went to Bridgeton High School’s prom Friday night. The event was held at a country club near Bridgeton, N.J.

“Our hearts and prayers go out to the families and certainly we are praying for the two students who are in the hospital right now. We want them to pull through and recover from the crash,” Thomasina Jones, the Bridgeton schools superintendent, said in a statement.

She said the deceased girls were in the 10th and 11th grades.

“Our hearts and prayers go out to the families and certainly we are praying for the two students who are in the hospital right now. We want them to pull through and recover from the crash,” Jones said.

Daya Robbins, the sister of Sulton’s boyfriend, posted a Facebook photo of the couple at the prom.

“It hurts me that’s she’s gone,” Robbins said, per the New York Post. “It hurts me seeing my brother like this. Daisia Sulton please watch over him. He loved you more than you’ll ever know.”
