Two men beat a woman in a parking lot as they suspected that she was saying bad things about one of the men to his wife, according to Chinese news outlet Beijing Times.

The incident occurred at a housing community in Yangjiang City of China’s southern Guangdong Province on July 8. The attack lasted for over half an hour. The victim, surnamed Zheng, 30, sustained injuries on her head and back. She was later taken to the hospital, the report said.

One of the attackers, surnamed Wu, 28, claimed that Zheng had been speaking badly about him to his wife, and Wu blamed Zheng for his marital problems, according to Beijing Times.

So Wu wanted to give Zheng “a lesson” and invited a friend to join him in his plan.

The Attack

Wu and his friend, surnamed Feng, 26, went out drinking on the night of July 7.

The two later invited Zheng out to meet them, as the three were reported to know each other as friends. However, Wu had secretly planned to “give a lesson” to Zheng, according to the local police who responded to the case. Zheng met them in the early morning hours of July 8. And at about 1:00 a.m., the attack began.

Video footage of the attack was captured by a resident in the housing community. The two men can be seen kicking and yelling at Zheng, who was already on the ground. Every time Zheng attempted to get up and escape, she was shoved back to the ground, and continuously assaulted.

Eyewitnesses claimed that the abuse went on for at least half an hour.

No one appears to attempt to intervene as the two men continue to beat Zheng, kicking her from behind, and loudly berating her.

After police arrived, the three were taken to the local police department and interrogated. Wu then confessed to the reason of the attack. Media reports only vaguely stated that there were strict consequences for the attack.

Zheng was later taken to the hospital after the interrogation.
