House Democrats had an extremely bad day on Wednesday as they tried to further impeachment proceedings, President Donald Trump alleged early Dec. 5.

“The Do Nothing Democrats had a historically bad day yesterday in the House. They have no Impeachment case and are demeaning our Country. But nothing matters to them, they have gone crazy,” Trump said in a statement on Twitter.

“Therefore I say, if you are going to impeach me, do it now, fast, so we can have a fair trial in the Senate, and so that our Country can get back to business.”

Trump said his team would call House Intelligence Chairman Adam Schiff (D-Calif.), House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.), former Vice President Joe Biden, and Biden’s son Hunter Biden as witnesses if a Senate trial was triggered by a House impeachment vote.

“We will have Schiff, the Bidens, Pelosi and many more testify, and will reveal, for the first time, how corrupt our system really is. I was elected to ‘Clean the Swamp,’ and that’s what I am doing!” he said.

Schiff said last month that if he were called as a witness in a Senate trial, it would display “a fundamental lack of seriousness, a willingness to try to turn this into a circus, like the president would like.”

Joe Biden said on Wednesday that he wouldn’t voluntarily appear if called as a witness. Hunter Biden rarely appears in public and has not been publicly asked about being called as a witness.

Pelosi has not addressed the possibility of being called as a witness; it appeared to be the first time the president or lawmakers had proposed calling her.

She said at a press conference Thursday morning that House Judiciary Chairman Jerrold Nadler (D-N.Y.) was asked to draft articles of impeachment against Trump.

If the Democrat-controlled House impeaches Trump, a trial would take place in the Senate. Republicans hold a 53-47 majority in the Senate.
