Track Palin, Sarah Palin’s Son, Arrested on Domestic Violence Charges: Alaska Officials

Track Palin, the son of former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin, was arrested on several charges, according to Alaska state officials.

The Alaska Department of Public Safety said in a statement that state troopers responded to a home in Wasilla at around 10:30 p.m. on Sept. 28. They got a report of a “disturbance” and that Palin assaulted an unnamed “female acquaintance,” and when she tried to call the police, he took her cell phone away.

“While being placed under arrest, Palin physically resisted troopers” and Palin was arrested on charges including fourth-degree assault, interfering with a police report, resisting arrest, and disorderly conduct.

He’s now being held without bail, according to Alaska state officials.

KTUU reported that he appeared in court on Sept. 29, and pleaded not guilty. If convicted, Palin could face a year in jail and thousands of dollars in fines.

In court, Palin also questioned why five troopers responded to the domestic disturbance call, KTUU reported.

Last year, Palin was arrested on domestic violence charges, which involved his parents. In 2016, he faced domestic violence charges for allegedly assaulting his ex-girlfriend.

Sarah Palin said that her son’s arrests likely stem from him suffering post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) after returning from the war in Iraq in 2008.

“What my own son is going through, what he is going through coming back, I can relate to other families who feel ramifications of PTSD and some of the woundedness that our soldiers do return with,” said Palin, who was a Republican vice presidential candidate in 2008, according to Q13.
