Tori Roloff is flying the flag for struggling moms everywhere by admitting that she battles “mom guilt” as much as any other mother. A difficult moment on a family holiday with her baby daughter Lilah prompted Tori to speak openly about the occasional struggles of parenting.

On Nov. 19, 2019, baby Lilah Ray Roloff was born. “Zach and I are so excited to introduce you to our sweet baby girl, Lilah,” Tori announced, as per TLC. “She has been the perfect addition to our family!”

After settling into life as a family of four, Tori, husband Zach, and 2-year-old “big brother” Jackson made plans for their first family vacation.

In February 2020, the family—including Zach’s father, Matt Roloff, and his partner, Caryn Chandler—took a vacation to Disneyland. Photos depict nothing but happy faces; Tori even captioned her shared photos on Instagram, “Sometimes you can’t just pick one photo!”

However, Tori later admitted that while the trip had been incredible, it certainly hadn’t been all smiles and sunshine, especially during transit.

Taking to Instagram, Tori revealed that at one point she had felt “like a failure” while traveling with baby Lilah. The family trip entailed Lilah’s very first airplane journey, and Tori struggled to keep her baby girl calm.

“I know social media can sometimes make it look like we’ve all got it together all the time,” Tori posted, as per World ABC News. “Truth is, that’s not the truth.”

“Traveling today was really hard,” the 28-year-old mom of two continued. “Lilah just doesn’t travel the best [...] She’s a little more particular when it comes to anything really and it’s been a mental adjustment for me.”

Traveling with 2-year-old Jackson and 2-month-old Lilah in tow, the TV star’s exhaustion was so apparent that a fellow passenger on the plane decided to bestow a kind word. And a cookie.

“I was at the end of my patience and feeling like a total failure on the plane this evening,” Tori explained, as per World ABC News. “I was so exhausted and frustrated and feeling like a bad mom for taking my 2-month-old out.”

“This woman didn’t know me at all,” she continued, speaking of the passenger whose sweet gift made all the difference, “and told me that she carries cookies for people that are having a rough day. I burst into tears on the plane [...] It made my whole night.”

Despite the occasional motherly misgivings, Tori and her husband, Zach, are often on the receiving end of a huge outpouring of love from their fans. In response to Lilah’s birth announcement on Facebook, many people offered praise and support for the Roloffs’ growing family.

“No matter if she is a Little Person or Bigger Person, she is the perfect size for Lilah Ray Roloff,” wrote one person, “and she will do great things in this world... just like Jackson.”

“So glad you get to experience a boy and girl now,” wrote another. “They are different experiences but rewarding at the same time.”

It seems that Tori has the love and support of her whole family, too, throughout the good times and the bad. On the occasion of baby Lilah’s birth, Tori’s mother-in-law, Amy Roloff, commented, “She is so precious. She has my heart already,” as per Good Housekeeping.

Zach’s father’s partner, Caryn Chandler, added her own message of love for Lilah. “So excited you’re here,” she said, “and we can’t wait to watch you grow.”
