The Walking Dead Season 5 Spoilers: Glenn Death Rumor Remains Unconfirmed

A rumor that Glenn will be killed in The Walking Dead season 5 remains unconfirmed for now.

Filming for the next season of the extremely popular AMC show is taking place right now, with episode 2 filming wrapping up last week.

The season 4 finale included no major deaths, indicating that there will be several in season 5 and likely sooner rather than later.

The core group expanded several times last season, including the addition of Abraham, Rosita, and Eugene.

Sasha and Tyreese also moved into the prison before it was overrun and Bob came to the group as well. Tara joined in later on thanks to Glenn.

The Spoiling Dead Fans, which has been consistently publishing rumors and spoilers about the upcoming season–mostly based on locals who are getting information–revealed in late May that it had heard from multiple sources that the death of Glenn was filmed. Based on the filming schedule, that would have been during episode 2.

“It’s possible it could be someone else, but multiple sources stated Glenn,” the page said.

Seemingly adding credibility to the rumor, Alanna Masterson (Tara) tweeted at 1:28 p.m. “When someone great is gone.” Tara and Glenn grew very close during season 4 as they tried to find Maggie.

“It’s said that Steven was hugging production members and shaking everyone’s hand while leaving,” The Spoiling Dead Fans added. The page noted that a rumor isn’t confirmation. It also speculated that if Glenn did indeed die it could be offset by Beth returning.

No other confirmation for the death has come from either the page or anywhere else as of yet. It’s possible that the facts won’t come out until the episode airs.

It makes sense that at least one of the primary characters will die early in season 5, since most of the group is trapped in Terminus. The people there seem to have sinister motives. Many believe that they are cannibals.

Glenn is one of the few original characters left in the show, and his death would definitely be upsetting for some fans. For instance, one commentor wrote on a previous Epoch Times article: “I hope it’s not true. I’d rather see Daryl go than Glenn.”

Another said: “I would miss Glenn, but rather him than Rick, Carol, or, God forbid, Daryl!”

The other original characters are Rick, Carl, Daryl, and Carol. Maggie is in the second wave of characters, having joined the group after they were at Herschel’s farm.
