If you were in the city last week, I hope you didn’t miss The Ninth Avenue International Food Festival. Hundreds of food and craft stands flanked the Hell’s Kitchen part of the Avenue between 42nd and 57th Streets, offering everything from kebabs and burgers to paella and takoyaki on the yummy side, and gifts, trinkets, and accessories of varying quality on the fashionable one.

Granted, the selection was heavily repetitive, with some brands popping up again and again on every bloc. But a trained eye could easily spot the unique and outstanding ones. Just consider to stroll the event at least twice, once to see and the second time to taste, lest you may regret to see the best item while already fully satiated.
