First, the official description has been released:

“The city needs heroes. Darkness has settled over New York City as Shredder and his evil Foot Clan have an iron grip on everything from the police to the politicians. The future is grim until four unlikely outcast brothers rise from the sewers and discover their destiny as Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. The Turtles must work with fearless reporter April and her wise-cracking cameraman Vern Fenwick to save the city and unravel Shredder’s diabolical plan.”

The cast includes Megan Fox as April O'Neil, Will Arnett as Venon Fenwick, and Whoopi Goldberg as Bernadette Thompson.

Johnny Knoxville voices Leonardo, Alan Ritchson voices Raphael, Jeremy Howard voices Donatello, and Noel Fisher voices Michelangelo. Also, Tony Shalhoub voices Splinter.

The movie is produced by Michael Bay, known for his work on the Transformers series.

The movie will likely feature some changes, and one of those appears to be Shredder clad in armor.

Several trailers were released a while back, showing villains being taken out by the turtles, and April catching it on film.

The movie is based partly in New York City.

The new TMNT is set to hit theaters on August 8.

The date was moved around several times before that date was settled on.

There will likely be more TMNT coming--Fichtner revealed that he has signed on for three films.
