County Executive Steven M. Neuhaus visited Tammy Nail Spa in Blooming Grove on Jan. 6 as part of the “Open for Business” initiative.
Tammy Dang, a native of Vietnam, moved to the U.S. in 2001 and worked in the professional nail industry for 20 years. She and her husband, Scott Desjardines, own the business, which opened in July 2015.
“Tammy is a great example of living the American dream,” Neuhaus said. “It was great meeting her and Scott today, and getting to know them. They are both kind people and have so much energy. Tammy has worked hard for this opportunity. She often works seven days a week.”
Tammy Nail Spa is located in a 15,000 square-foot historical building at 2952 Route 94.
“I would like to thank Mr. Neuhaus for spending as much time as he did with us and meeting with our customers,” Desjardines said. “As a business owner, I think this is a fantastic thing that he’s doing to help small businesses. This helps us get going and stay up and running, which is important. Small business is the backbone of our community.”
