Microsoft could potentially launch two new tablets before the holiday season.

According to tech tipster TK Tech News, Microsoft is going to launch a Surface Mini tablet and the Surface 3 “before holidays.”

This news seems quite plausible as Microsoft very likely has already developed the Surface Mini.

In fact, the Surface Mini was supposed to launch along side the Surface Pro 3 in May this year, but it was allegedly cut at the very last minute.

Neowin‘s Brad Sams even got to test out a prototype of the Surface Mini, and had good things to say about the then shelved device.

To briefly recap, the Surface Mini “looks very much like a Surface Pro 3 but in a smaller form factor,” and features an 8-inch display, a Qualcomm processor, 1GB of RAM, microSD and USB support, and the same pen as the Surface Pro 3.

As for the Surface 3, no details and specifications have been leaked at this stage, but it can be expected to be similar to the Surface Pro 3 but with scaled down specifications.

Microsoft could be anxious to release more of tablets to the Surface Pro 3 line after getting a good response from overseas markets.

Not everyone will get be able to get their hands on a Surface Mini, however, as TK Tech News notes that Microsoft only has a “limited supply.”
