No, Jar Jar Binks or his like will not be appearing in Star Wars: Episode VII, and Harry Potter star says Adam Driver is “brilliant.”

Motion caption master Andy Serkis has been tipped to play a role in director J. J. Abrams’ Star Wars reboot, but he won’t be a Jar Jar Binks-like character as has been rumored.

“I am definitely NOT playing anything like Jar Jar Binks! That I can confirm,” Serkis told The Daily Beast.

Serkis has done key motion capture work for films such as Lord of the Rings, Rise of the Planet of the Apes, and King Kong, and will also be doing motion capture for Dawn of the Planet of the Apes, Avengers: Age of Ultron, and Star Wars: Episode VII.

In other news, Harry Potter star Daniel Radcliffe has high praise for his What If co-star and Episode VII main character Adam Driver.

He’s like a really sweet, humble, smart guy and brilliant at improvising,” Radcliffe said.

“I hope he takes some of his amazing improvisational skills to the new Star Wars movie.”

Driver will join John Boyega, Daisy Ridley, Oscar Isaac, Andy Serkis, Domhnall Gleeson, Max von Sydow, Lupita Nyong'o, and Gwendoline Christie as the fresh-faces to the Star Wars series.

The old cast of Harrison Ford (Han Solo), Mark Hamil (Luke Skywalker), Carried Fisher (Princess Leia Organa), Anthony Daniels (C-3PO), Peter Mayhew (Chewbacca), and Kenny Baker (R2-D2) are set to return.

Star Wars: Episode VII will be released in cinemas on December 18, 2015.
