The latest actress linked with J. J. Abrams’s Star Wars is recent Oscar winner and 12 Years a Slave star Lupita Nyong'o.

Lupita met up with Abrams before the Academy Awards, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Star Wars: Episode VII is not the only big film Lupita has been linked with. Post-12 Years, the Oscar 2014 Best Supporting Actress and Yale University School of Drama graduate has been tipped for the role of Tiger Lily in Warner Bros.’s Pan, and a part in The Whole Truth, a courtroom drama featuring Daniel “007” Craig as the lead.

Lupita could play the non-Caucasian descendent of legendary Jedi Master Obi-Wan Kenobi. With the secrecy surrounding the film, however, this is speculative.

Abrams is still searching for actors to play lead roles. Ed Speleers (“Downton Abbey”), John Boyega (“Attack the Black”), Jesse Plemons (“Breaking Bad”), and theater actors Matthew James Thomas and Ray Fisher have all been pipped to replace Luke Skywalker as the space saga’s main protagonist.

Adam Driver is in final negotiations to play the villain. It is speculated that Driver will portray Jacen Solo, the male twin of Han Solo and Princess Leia, who goes by the moniker of Darth Caedus after his turn to the Dark Side.
