St. Benedict’s Children Center in Talisay City has collapsed following a 7.2 magnitude earthquake, and a series of aftershocks, on Oct. 15.
Neil Sanchez of the Cebu Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council told ANC that he received a report that multiple students are trapped in rubble at the center.
“We got a report that it collapsed and that there are a number of students trapped, but rescue operations are being conducted by the local rescue teams,” he said.
In addition, authorities are trying to verify reports of casualties. The initial number of reported casualties is 9.
