The wife of Los Angeles Dodgers relief pitcher Alex Vesia is breaking her silence months after the couple suffered the unimaginable loss of their newborn daughter.
“You know, I don’t have much to say, honestly,” she told followers in an emotional TikTok video. “Alex and I are just trying to get through it every day. Every day’s so different for us right now, and I don’t really have the words.”
“I was prepared for whatever was going to happen,” she continued in the two-minute long video through tears. “I wasn’t prepared for not taking my baby home.”
“It’s with a heavy heart that we share that Alex Vesia is away from the team as he and his wife Kayla navigate a deeply personal family matter,” read the statement. “The entire Dodger organization is sending our thoughts to the Vesia family, and we will provide an update at a later date.”
Meanwhile, Kayla went on to express her gratitude for the Dodgers community, fans, and others who have reached out in offering words of support.
“It just felt right to come on here and say thank you,” she said. “I am really grateful for the community of you guys, and just expressing your support and love towards us. It really has brought us a lot of comfort during this.”
Unsure what the future of their healing journey looks like, the influencer said she hopes to use her online outlet as a space where those with shared grief can find encouragement through the pain.
“[I don’t know] what this content is going to look like going forward, but I do want to share my journey,” she added.
“I don’t know how much I’m gonna share, I don’t know the details, but I do know I want to share if it can help somebody who’s going through the same thing, you know, feel like they’re not alone.”
