A University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) football player has been charged with attempted murder and assault after authorities alleged he stabbed two teammates inside a campus athletic facility hours before the team’s final home game of the season.
According to charging documents filed in Jefferson County, 20-year-old offensive lineman Daniel Mincey is accused of attacking the players with a knife on Saturday morning at UAB’s Football Operations Building. The court filings did not detail what precipitated the violence, and the university has not released additional information, citing the ongoing investigation.
