With a five-goal lead already in their back pocket, Vancouver Whitecaps FC cruised into the CONCACAF Champions League quarterfinals, 7–3 on aggregate, despite losing 3–2 to Real CD Espana on Wednesday, March 15, in San Pedro Sula, Honduras.

They will next face reigning MLS champion Los Angeles FC in the quarters after LAFC beat LD Alajuelense of Costa Rica 4–2 on aggregate following a 2–1 loss later Wednesday.
