Two men who hijacked a car in South African with a two-year-old girl inside have returned the toddler to her family.
Over the weekend, the two armed men held up Thabile Khumalo in her home driveway in Johannesburg and drove off her Toyota Yaris with her daughter, Sinokuhle, according to South African newspaper The Star.
“One of the hijackers seemed nice. I begged him to please just leave her somewhere,” Khumalo told The Star on March 6. “It seemed he listened. I’ve never been so scared in my life.”
Khumalo immediately ran to the police station, which is four blocks away from her house, but 90 minutes later the two men had dropped little Sinokuhle outside the house’s gate.
Police spokesperson Captain Godfrey Maditsi said the police are still searching for the two men, the paper reported.
