A newly released video on Snapchat has sparked a police investigation.
The footage appears to show a father pouring hot sauce down his son’s pants.
The video is captioned “potty training 101.”
The video was filmed in Choctaw, Oklahoma, reported News9.
Shana Honeycutt is credited with posting it on Facebook, attracting attention and prompting the police investigation.
“I absolutely, 100 percent believe that putting hot sauce in your child’s pants and wiping it on their face is absolutely child abuse,” Honeycutt told KFOR.
“As soon as I saw it, I was literally shaking and crying,” she said.

However, the mother of the son, neither of whom has been identified, said that the video doesn’t show hot sauce being used.
“You can see that nothing went down his pants, and nothing was in his mouth,” the mother said. “The video was played out to be something it wasn’t. My son, I would never put him in harm’s way,” wrote the mother.
The police and Department of Human Services visited the home and said that it appeared safe for the boy, although they’re still investigating the video itself.
Casey White with the Department of Human Services said that if people see similar videos or pictures, they should screenshot them and send them to the department.
