Shooting at Downtown Cincinnati Bank, 4 Dead

Police in Cincinnati have responded to reports of an active shooter at a downtown bank.

According to the Cincinnati Enquirer, police said at 9:15 a.m. local time that the active shooter incident is secure.
At least three people were shot and killed in the incident, officials told Fox News. The suspect was shot and killed by police in a gun battle.

The Fox report said that two victims were hospitalized.

The shooting took place at Fifth Third Bank, 511 Walnut St., according to police.

No officers were injured in the shooting.

Cincinnati Police wrote on Twitter: “units are still actively clearing the scene in the 500 block of Walnut St. related to the active shooter investigation. People in the immediate vicinity should remain on lockdown until further notice. Continue to follow this feed for updates.”

“There was definitely a lot of blood involved,” Zach Fritzhand, who works nearby, said. He said he saw people on stretchers not moving.

Sen. Rob Portman said in a statement: “My staff and I are following the situation in Cincinnati. If you’re downtown, please follow first responder instructions for the safety of everyone involved. Jane and I hope for a peaceful resolution soon,” NBC5 reported.

Ohio Gov. John Kasich also tweeted about the development.
