The winter weather at a Hillsboro, Missouri, school got students hoping for a possible snow day on Friday, Jan. 12.

Superintendent Doc Cornman, of Hillsboro Schools, tweeted on Thursday, Jan. 11 that an unknown student was sending him candy “bribes” persuading him to call off school.

The bribe placed on Cornman’s front door in the St.Louis area included Reese’s peanut butter cups—his favorite candy—and a note.

That note simply read “You know what to do.”

According to KTVI, this is the second year in a row someone has tried to bribe Cornman with candy.

Last year someone dropped off some Hershey bars.

When Friday came around the corner, Cornman announced that the school will be in session as normal.

In a Friday, 5:25 a.m. tweet the superintendent said that “It’s cold outside, roads are clear, but the buses and buildings will be warm - see ya there.”

Cornman was not the only one receiving bribes. On Thursday night another St. Louis area superintendent said he also received candy enclosed with a note.

That note said, “Don’t be a nerd #callitofflink.”

But he also did not call off school on Friday.
