Humans today suffer from all kinds of illnesses, some of which are irreversible and have no cure. One of those is Alzheimer’s disease, which is a progressive brain disorder that slowly destroys memory and thinking skills, and eventually the ability to perform the simplest of tasks. Right now, in America alone, there are over 5 million people suffering from Alzheimer’s.

Caregivers of dementia sufferers know the difficulties their patients face on a daily basis, and thus patience, empathy, and compassion are prerequisites for this type of role.

Out in public, you may come across someone suffering from dementia accompanied by his or her caregiver on any given day. What if you come across a caregiver who doesn’t behave like one, but is dismissive and abusive towards the patient? Would you just ignore what you saw, stand and watch on the sidelines, or approach the caregiver?

In an episode of What Would You Do?, a disturbing scenario unfolds when a caregiver is seen dragging a patient with dementia into a spa. Instead of giving the patient her time and attention, the day was all about the caregiver, as she is seen getting her nails done.

The scene gets worse when she asks for the patient’s credit card and uses it to pay for her expenses. This leaves some of the customers at the salon downright shocked.

While some of the customers are still trying to figure out if the caregiver is serious or joking, the caregiver is seen telling her patient, “How am I supposed to pay for my nails if your card doesn’t work?”

One customer sitting nearby has had enough and decides to speak out.

The customer tells the caregiver that she is getting a pay check for what she is doing, and that using the patient’s credit card for her personal expenses is absolutely wrong.

Just when things get a bit heated, show host John Quinones walks in on the scene.

Onlookers in the salon later learn that it was Jazelle who acted as the caregiver and Bill played the role of the patient.

Throughout the day, Jazelle portrays to everyone that she is sick of the job, but doesn’t shy away from taking advantage of her patient.

See how people react as the cameras keep rolling in the video below.
