KAOHSIUNG, Taiwan—Shen Yun fever was sweeping through the Southern Taiwan. Shen Yun Performing Arts New York Company continued its run in Kaohsiung, giving its fifth performance with fully occupied seats at National Sun Yat-sen University Sun-Yat-sen Hall in the evening of March 16. District chairmen of Friendship Exchange, Rotary International, District 3510, Chen Fang-Lon said that Shen Yun’s performance was perfect and astonishing.
Classical Chinese dancing movements with sophisticated skills, and powerful demonstration surprised Chen Fang-Lon for this his initial experience of watching Shen Yun. He said that, the Shen Yun performance was truly perfect.
For Mr. Chen, the songs were amazing, and the voices of singers was wonderful, especially the words full of wisdom of life which led him into deep thinking: “It is inspiring. It seemingly talks about our lives, telling about the sentiment of human life.” Soprano Chia-ning Hsu’s song “What is the Meaning of Life” impressed him.
Mrs. Chen was impressed by the high-tech dynamic backdrops, “Dynamic backdrops connect the appearance of actors, very lifelike. I have never seen it before. It brought people into the scenes, so fantastic!”
As for the beautiful hand-made Shen Yun costumes, Mrs. Chen said, “They combine both classics and fashion. The colors are not usual, very bright and indeed beautiful!”
Arts Association Director: The Devotion of the Performers was Inspirational
The chair of the Kaohsiung City Art Promotion Association, Yu-Feng Lan Huang, watched the performance on Saturday evening with his wife. Both had seen Shen Yun before, and continued to be impressed by its caliber.
“The musical composition was carefully crafted and beautiful every year. The devotion of the performers was very inspirational,” Mr Lan said.
Mrs. Lan said she was a huge fan of Shen Yun and was seeing it for the third time. She said she regularly encouraged members of her arts association to come and see the performance.
“The animated backdrop was a pure artistry. The skill of the performers was excellent. I loved the live orchestra and it was magnificent,” she said. “The color coordination and the unifying effect of dancing and costumes were truly outstanding.”
Mrs. Lan was particularly impressed by the singing by world-renowned tenor, Hong Ming.
“All of his vocal techniques were superb. He was like an international superstar. The lyrics were concise but to the point.”
Mrs. Lan said she believed Shen Yun is a good guidance for young people, inspiring them to a new attitude about life. This year, she brought her daughter-in-law from China to the show, so that she could learn more about authentic Chinese culture and understand the truth about Falun Gong.
