Firefighters rescued riders from a derailed roller coaster at an amusement park on Daytona Beach boardwalk after two of them fell about 20 feet from a derailed cart on Thursday, June 14.
There were a total of 10 passengers were in the three-cart rollercoaster. Four people were in the first and second carts, and two more were in the third. The front cart became derailed, sending two of its passengers falling to the ground, while the other two were left trapped in the derailed cart, dangling in the air. The two had to wait 30 minutes before firefighters could get them out using a ladder truck, Daytona Beach News-Journal reported.
A total of six passengers had to be transported to Halifax Health Medical Center. The extent of their injuries is currently unknown, a fire department spokesman tweeted.
