Details about Capcom’s upcoming Resident Evil sequel are out.
Gamesmaster (via Push Start) had an interview with Resident Evil: Revelations 2 producer Michiteru Okabe recently, and he revealed some interesting tidbits about the game’s story, gameplay, and game specifications.
For starters, Claire Redfield, the sister of Chris Redfield from the original Resident Evil, has “grown to be a seasoned veteran,” and will be the game’s lead character.
Claire will be joined by Moira Burton, daughter of the legendary Barry Burton, in the single-player or co-op campaign.
Combat wise, Claire will be doing most of the heavy-lifting, while Moira plays more of a support role, such as supplying Claire with health herbs and shine a flashlight, among other supporting duties.
Moira’s role should not be understated, however, as “Game Over” will result if Claire is killed.
The game’s events occur between Resident Evil 5 and Resident Evil 6, and the story begins with both characters waking up in an abandoned detention facility after an abduction of sorts.
Like its predecessor, gameplay will be more survivor horror than either Resident Evil 5 or Resident Evil 6.
A new zombie-looking “Afflicted” enemy will make an appearance, and it is capable of dealing both fast and heavy damage to the player.
Finally, the game will run on 1080p and 60fps for the next-gen consoles and PC.
