Queen Elizabeth has been informed that Prince William has opted against taking the throne after her death, with the prince urging the queen to pass on the crown to Prince Charles.

The reason? Kate Middleton.

“Prince William stunned the Royal Family by revealing that he’s giving up the throne for the love of his beautiful wife, Kate,” according to Globe magazine’s November 10th edition.

“Ailing Queen Elizabeth had bypassed her eldest son Prince Charles, in favor of her 32 year old grandson as she prepared to step down and end her 61 year reign. But William has officially informed Her Majesty the pressures of royal life and raising a family at the same time have become too much for his pregnant wife and he has reluctantly made the decision to step aside--for now.”

The story says that Elizabeth is “heartbroken” over the news, which it calls the “love story of the century.”

Kate has been battling severe pregnancy sickness hypermesis gravidarum, although she appeared at multiple public events in late October for the first time in over a month.

There have also been various rumors that Kate is severely underweight, with one report pegging her as low as 90 pounds. Another says that the Duchess is 108 pounds, but that would still be 13 pounds underweight.

While members of the public have pointed out that the queen couldn’t officially bypass Prince Charles, others have noted that since she has a lot of power she could probably make something like that happen if she wants to.

For now, the only report on the situation comes from Globe.
