Horde encounters will return in Pokemon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire, and a Pokemon X and Y Heracross, Pinsir distribution is currently taking place.
In Pokemon X and Y, trainers could encounter hordes of Pokemon at one go, known as a Horde Encounter.
Trainers will normally meet a wild horde of up to five Pokemon mostly from the same species, with the occasional instance of a counterpart of a different species showing up. An example would be a Zangoose horde on Route 8 featuring one Seviper in Pokemon X.
Horde Pokemon are normally half the level of Pokemon in that area or route, and are normally the lower evolution of Pokemon in the area. For instance, if a trainer can encounter Machoke, the horde will feature Machop.
In Pokemon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire, however, Horde Encounters are not limited to wild hordes. Other trainers can also gang up against your in-game character, and you can face up to five trainers at once in a Horde Battle.
In other news, there is Pinsir and Heracross distribution being held from August 13 to September 17.
Players can get Heracross if they are on Pokemon X, and Pinsir if they are on Pokemon Y. Both Heracross and Pinsir will come at Lv. 50.
From August 18, participating GameStop outlets will put up flyers with game codes for trainers to get Mega Stones for Pinsir and Heracross.
Heracross will evolve into Heracronite and Pinsir into Pinsirite respectively when holding the stones in battle.
Here is how to receive the Heracross and Pinsir:
1) Connect Nintendo 3DS to the internet.
2) Select MYSTERY GIFT on the main menu.
3) Select RECEIVE GIFT, then YES.
4) Select GET VIA INTERNET, and hit YES.
5) Receive either Heracross or Pinsir.
6) Speak to the delivery girl in any Pokemon Center to add the Pokemon to a party.
7) Save game.
