Worried that #OscarMonsoon is going to happen on Mar. 2?
There’s a 4 in 10 chance of rain this Sunday, but its unlikely that festivities will be ruined since a giant protective tarp is already in place to protect the red carpet and the stars.
A similar tarp ensured that proceedings weren’t dampened when it rained at the 2008, 2010, and 2011 Academy Awards ceremonies.
Other award ceremonies, however, were not that fortunate.
Leonardo DiCaprio, The Wolf of Wall Street star, had to whip out a brolly at the 2013 Cannes Film Festival. It also rained at the 2013 British Academy of Film and Theatre Arts (BAFTA) Awards.

In the United States, the last event where celebrities had to tote umbrellas was at the 2010 Golden Globe Awards ceremony.
