Can’t wait for Apple’s latest Mac OS? Why not check out the beta program and promotional video first?

Apple has a beta program for those who want to get their hands on OS X Yosemite before its release in the fall.

Interested Mac users will have to sign up using their Apple ID. The program is only limited to one million OS X Mavericks users however.

On Monday, Apple posted a minute-long Youtube video titled “The New Look of OS X Yosemite” that highlights the major changes that Apple will make in OS X Yosemite.

Stuff like transparencies, a flatter, iOS 7-inspired iconography, and a retooled system text were shown off in the video.

Yosemite’s new 2D dock is also featured, and the video quickly goes through the icon changes that have been made to Safari, Mail, Notes, Calender and other icons.

Calender, Messages, and Mail were given a slightly more in depth look, and one can see effect of transparencies on Apple’s new desktop OS.

In the video annotations, Apples writes: “We reconsidered every element of the Mac interface, large and small.”

“The result is something that feels fresh, but still inherently familiar. Completely new, yet completely Mac.”
