“Orange is the New Black” star Natasha Lyonne recently spoke about the progress of the hit Netflix show.

“We’re almost done, we’re two episodes away from wrapping the season,” she told Gotham magazine, referring to filming the second season of “Orange Is The New Black.”

She added: “All of us were together at the Globes—me, Laura Prepon, and Uzo Aduba. The three of us went to support Taylor [Schilling], so we had a long night on the town.”

“I’m so proud to be part of that show, it is really satisfying to be proud of the work that we’re doing. We have such a nice thing going with all of us that feels really great as a woman … it’s really funny and original stuff, great writing, great voices,” she added.

“Everything on that show is functioning at two levels at all times,” Lyonne said. “There’s a real underbelly of suffering and pain. We’re people in prison who have this albatross of regret of making, at some point, a terrible decision that led us to be there . . . And Netflix feels like mavericks, there’s not restrictions and walls, they really just want to make the best thing possible.”

The interview comes days after cast and crew members of the show helped raise funds for costar Michelle Hurst, was in a car accident in December.

She had major injuries, so doctors “put her in a medically induced coma to avoid movement while they did multiple surgeries near her spine,” EW reported.

“She is out of the coma (after 16 days) and has opened her eyes! We can’t send flowers yet because she is in ICU at UNC Chapel Hill Hospital. So we have set up a fundraising page,” reads a fundraising page for her. “All the money will go through Michelle’s sister to help pay for her medical expenses & time off of work.”
