Who would have thought that a four-time state wrestling champion from Ohio would one day be pinning progressives to the proverbial mat?

Rep. Jim Jordan (R-Ohio) has that same kind of Trumpian aura where you feel like he’s always on his way to tackle something very important, but has stopped momentarily to snatch his country from the path of an oncoming train.

The author of “Do What You Said You Would Do: Fighting for Freedom in the Swamp,” Mr. Jordan first made a name for himself opposing Obamacare (aka the Affordable Care Act), a position he’s never wavered from.
Later, Mr. Jordan was instrumental in calling for the release of all documents related to the Mueller investigation, eventually coming to the conclusion that “Despite the Special Counsel’s findings, it seems nothing will stop Democrats in Congress from trying to get [President Trump] at all costs.”
Since then, Mr. Jordan has become a champion of the people and a human bullhorn for mainstream America. Let’s look at some of his highlights:

The Masks and the Mandates

In April 2021, when many Americans still felt it was safer to sacrifice an Instacart shopper than risk their own lives at the store, Mr. Jordan was holding Dr. Anthony Fauci’s feet to the fire on masks and public gatherings. In an exchange that will live in infamy, Mr. Jordan demanded, “When do Americans get their freedom back?”
And while another great patriot, Sen. Rand Paul (R-Ky.), takes the top spot for challenging the Dr. Fauci narrative on the origins of the virus, even being the first to call for his resignation, over a million people couldn’t stop watching Mr. Jordan unloading on Dr. Fauci over gain-of-function research and that cryptic lab in Wuhan.

The Truth About the Jan. 6 Committee

Was it any surprise that Mr. Jordan refused to cooperate with the House Jan. 6 Committee investigating the events of that day? He denounced it as a “partisan witch hunt” and accused Democrats of using the committee as “a partisan cudgel against their political adversaries.”

How Big Tech Colluded to Censor Americans

In February 2023, as Chairman of the House Judiciary Committee, Mr. Jordan subpoenaed Big Tech CEOs—the “first step in holding Big Tech accountable"—for their companies’ records on alleged collusion with the Biden administration to “suppress free speech.” Alphabet, Amazon, Apple, Meta, and Microsoft were all called to account.
By June 2023, the committee—along with the Select Subcommittee on the Weaponization of the Federal Government—had produced an interim staff report to officially document how and why American voices were being censored.
At the heart of the investigation was the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA)—described as an upstart agency within the Department of Homeland Security (DHS). Without Mr. Jordan’s hard-hitting investigation, Americans would have never heard of the agency that had become the “nerve center of the federal government’s domestic surveillance and censorship operations on social media.” The investigation is ongoing.

When the DOJ Treated Parents as Domestic Terrorists

And who can forget Mr. Jordan blasting the Justice Department and calling out Attorney General Merrick Garland for labeling parents “domestic terrorists”? In 2021, parents protested at school board meetings over mask and vaccine mandates, curfew orders, and other restrictions implemented during the pandemic.
In his opening comments before questioning AG Garland, Mr. Jordan outlined how the National School Boards Association (NSBA) wrote a letter to President Joe Biden asking him to “use the Patriot Act to go after moms and dads.” Among other things, he exposed how just days later, the head of the FBI’s Counterterrorism Division was having conversations with the Justice Department on how to implement that request, which hadn’t even yet been forwarded from the attorney general. Thanks to Mr. Jordan, parents now knew what was happening behind the scenes.

How and Why Banks Are Targeting Conservatives

Last August we heard the first reports that Mr. Jordan had subpoenaed Citibank “amid a wider probe into whether multiple banks shared data with the U.S. government” in order to prosecute individuals involved in the breach at the U.S. Capitol.
By January 2024, Mr. Jordan’s House Judiciary was introducing Americans to the Financial Crimes Enforcement Network (FinCEN), a bureau of the Treasury Department that was instructing banks to filter transactions using “suggested search terms” such as “Trump” and “MAGA.” They were also told to be on the lookout for merchant category codes (MCC) for stores such as “Dick’s Sporting Goods” and “Bass Pro Shops” that might reflect “potential active shooters.”

Mr. Jordan detailed how FinCEN warned of “extremism indicators” that included “the purchase of books (including religious texts) and subscriptions to other media containing extremist views.” He wrote that “FinCEN used large financial institutions to comb through the private transactions of their customers for suspicious charges on the basis of protected political and religious expression.”

Just this month, the Subcommittee on the Weaponization of the Federal Government held a hearing to examine how “Big Government has colluded with Big Banks to surveil Americans’ private financial data.” During it, Mr. Jordan warned us that he expects de-banking measures—similar to what happened in Canada—will happen here. In Canada, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau’s government used emergency powers to freeze the bank accounts of people protesting COVID-19 mandates. More than 1.5 million people watched the hearing exchange, which included Dr. Jordan Peterson, a Canadian psychologist and commentator widely embraced by conservatives.

Impeachment and Hunter Biden

As chair of the House Judiciary Committee, Mr. Jordan has been a leading voice in the impeachment investigation of President Biden, assisting Rep. James Comer of Kentucky, who is chair of the House Oversight and Accountability Committee.
Mr. Jordan has also accused the Department of Justice of shielding the president’s son, Hunter Biden, from investigation. That investigation is also ongoing.

Fani Willis Motives and Alleged Misuse of Funds

And then there’s Georgia District Attorney Fani Willis. As The Epoch Times reported, Ms. Willis was communicating with both Vice President Kamala Harris and the Democrat-led House Jan. 6 Committee immediately before she filed charges against President Trump.
So it’s probably no surprise that Mr. Jordan’s committee is finding evidence that allegedly “Ms. Willis’s politicized prosecution [of Donald Trump], including the decision to convene a special purpose grand jury, was aided by partisan Democrats in Washington, D.C.” Their findings came after a whistleblower alerted them that her office was allegedly misusing federal grant funds.
While Ms. Willis may have succeeded in getting a grand jury to issue election interference indictments against Mr. Trump and 18 others, it’s clear that this isn’t Mr. Jordan’s first chess game. The House Judiciary Committee is giving Ms. Willis an ultimatum to cooperate with his investigation or potentially face contempt charges.

Biden’s Stash of Classified Documents

Then there’s that little matter of classified documents found in President Biden’s home and office. Former U.S. Attorney Robert Hur was handpicked by AG Garland to oversee that fiasco.
Mr. Hur’s findings confirmed that the president had “retained and shared highly classified information when he was a private citizen,” including military and foreign policy, some of it concerning Afghanistan. Strangely, Mr. Hur concluded that criminal charges weren’t warranted because a potential jury would likely find President Biden to be a “sympathetic, well-meaning, elderly man with a poor memory.”
Enter Mr. Jordan. One of the highlights of the House Judiciary grilling of special counsel Hur was when Mr. Jordan asked him, “Why did Joe Biden, in your words, willfully retain and disclose classified materials?” He continued to boil down the potential answer for all of us: pride and money. Citing Mr. Hur’s report, Mr. Jordan masterfully illustrates that the president was sharing classified information with his ghostwriter for his $8 million book deal.

I can’t even imagine who would have been better for America at this point in our history than Mr. Jordan, or where we would be without him. Rep. Jim Jordan has earned his place as a champion of the people.
