Occupy Wall Street protesters and Egyptian activists gathered outside of the headquarters of a company involved in tear gas manufacturing at 56th Street and Sixth Avenue on Thursday afternoon.

Occupy Wall Street protesters and Egyptian activists gathered outside of the headquarters of a company involved in tear gas manufacturing at 56th Street and Sixth Avenue on Thursday afternoon.

“Basically I see this as an educational action today,” said CJ Holm, one of about 30 protesters. “There are still people who don’t know that the tear gas being used against the protesters in Egypt is actually made in the United States,” said Holm.

The protesters wore eye patches and masks to symbolize the painful sting of tear gas. They tried to enter the building and got into an altercation with the security guard before leaving the lobby.
