NEW YORK—Due to the snow already piling up on the streets of New York City and more expected to come, all after-school programs and field trips are canceled, the city’s Schools Chancellor Carmen Farina announced this morning. All schools remain open.

Weather forecast expects up to eight inches of snow by the time the storm ends.

Trains and subways are operating normally, yet “[b]us service is experiencing system-wide weather related delays due to road conditions,” according to the Metropolitan Transportation Authority website.
