None of the pilots were tested for alcohol or drugs after the plane crash in San Francisco on July 6, Deborah Hersman, chairwoman of the National Transportation Safety Board, told reporters on Tuesday.
Pilots on United States carriers are required by law to be tested after a crash but there is no specific requirement for pilots flying over or into the United States from other countries, said Hersman. The U.S. typically defers to the policies of whatever country the pilots are from. Investigators are still looking into the matter.
