Nina Dobrev’s so-called secret boyfriend is Mark Foster of the band Foster the People, according to a new report.
Two people close to a member of Foster’s family confirmed the relationship to a source, who then passed it on to Celeb Dirty Laundry.
Foster is friends with Ian Somerhalder, Dobrev’s on-screen love interest on The Vampire Diaries and her ex-boyfriend in real-life.
The gossip site says that Dobrev was trying to keep the relationship a secret because so many fans wish that she and Somerhalder would get back together.
“Unfortunately some of Nina’s fans haven’t been reacting to this news in a positive manner, possibly egged on by the delusion of their beloved ‘Delena’ coupling in real life. They still think that Nina Dobrev and Ian Somerhalder are meant to be together, and they STILL think that they will eventually get back together,” it said.
“So in that vein, can anyone blame Nina for keeping this news a secret from everyone, but ESPECIALLY Ian? Ian couldn’t bother with the same courtesy, considering that he was rubbing in his Nikki Reed relationship the minute it started happening ... . In contrast, Nina’s being extremely cool about this, and one should commend her for not showing off all the men in her life to make Ian jealous.”
Fans had different reactions to the news, which has not been verified.
“Please CDL!!! Stop writing Nina’s male friends, co stars as her boyfriend!!! Mark Foster is her male friend. She saw him twice in this month at the consert.. Stop linking Nina to Mark,” said one.
“Nine is single!!!!” said another.
“Good riddance!!! Who cares if Nina is dating Ian’s friends Butch Hogan, Bryn Mooser, Paul Wesley and his father Robert Somerhalder all at the same time...just move on. I am so sick of her fans constantly tearing Ian and Nikki down. Anything Ian posts, two thirds of the comments have Nina’s name in it and the other one third is nasty sour grapes,” said yet another.
