A “leaked” image of the Nexus 9 that has been circulating on the web is really a fake.
A couple of websites have been speculating that an image posted on Google’s Think With Google site is the upcoming Nexus 9.
However, the picture is really just a stock image from the website Shutterstock.
The Nexus 9 is rumored to be a Google-HTC joint project.
It is believed to be one of three upcoming tablets by HTC at the moment, according to tech tipster @evleaks.
HTC is said to be working on “T1″ Nexus 9 / HTC Volantis/HTC Flounder, the ”T7,“ and the ”T12.”
The Nexus 9 is also known as the Nexus 8 because it is rumored to have an 8.9-inch screen.
Google has not produced a tablet since the Nexus 7 in 2013, and has not officially announced that it is producing any tablets.
If Google is indeed working with HTC on a new tablet, it could be released together with the latest Android L operating system.
A Developer Preview of Android L is already available, and the OS is expected to be ready in late October or November.
Here are some of the rumored specifications of the Nexus 9:
Display: 8.9-inch, 2048 x 1440 pixels (281ppi)
Processor: 64-bit NVIDIA Logan quad-core (Tegra K1)
Memory: 2GB RAM
Storage: 16/32GB
Cameras: 8 mega-pixel OIS main camera, 3 mega-pixel front facing camera
