For those who haven’t been following the Nexus 9 developments, Google and HTC are collaborating on the Nexus 9, and the HTC T1 is one of the many working names for the tablet. Other names that have been linked with the Nexus 9 are HTC Volantis and HTC Flounder.
The leaked photo shows the back of a black color, matte finish HTC device with the Nexus branding in the middle.
A camera and various sensors are located on the top left hand corner of the tablet.
According to @upleaks, the Nexus 9 is made of “matte plastic” like LG’s Nexus 5, and will not feature a metal body like Apple’s iPads.
In accordance with earlier rumors, the FCC-certified HTC tablet comes in 16GB and 32GB models.
As for the release date, the Nexus 9 could be announced at a HTC launch event on October 8, or on October 16 in the United States. This means that the tablet should ship sometime in late October or early November, just in time for the holiday season.
An October 24 announcement date has been rumored for the United Kingdom.
