The Nexus 6 could be sold by an unlikely carrier in the United States.

According to PocketNow, the Nexus 6 could “find a surprising home” with Verizon.

This piece of news is rather surprising as Verizon has only carried two Nexus devices to date, the original 2011 Galaxy Nexus and the 2013 Nexus 7 tablet.

News about the latest Nexus smartphone are leaking with increased rapidity in the recent week, which suggests that the product is set for an unveiling some time soon.

A number of photos of the Nexus 6 have even surfaced, as well as phone specifications.

Google is rumored to be collaborating with Motorola to produce a device that has a 5.9-inch screen with 2560 x 1440p resolution, a 2.7 GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 805 processor with 3GB of RAM, 32GB of internal storage (according to 9to5Mac), a 13 mega-pixel rear camera and a 2 mega-pixel front camera, and a massive 3,200 mAh battery.

The Nexus 6 will also have Motorola’s fast charging capability.

One lone voice insists that the recently leaked phone is not the Nexus 6, but the Moto S.

Although they were once thought to be the same device, TK Tech News says that they are in fact two different pieces of hardware.

TK Tech News claims that the Nexus 6 will be a smaller 5.2-inch device, and could be released as the “Nexus X.”

The 5.9-inch Moto S is very much a Google project though, and may be the first device in the Android Silver line, a Google programme that was supposedly called off at the start of the year.

“This is why we see NO NEXUS branding on the Moto S we have seen leaked lately that people are considering a nexus 6 aka nexus x,” TK Tech News says.
