NEW YORK—Culminating in the New York Giants narrow win over the New England Patriots, 21-17, New Yorkers enjoyed Super Bowl Sunday around the city, in homes, taverns, pubs, and restaurants.

Mayor Michael Bloomberg traveled to Indianapolis for the game, speaking on television from the end zone in the morning. He helped rename Brady’s Bar on Friday, switching the name on the front awning of the Upper East Side establishment to “Manning’s” after Giants quarterback Eli Manning, and posted a photograph to his Twitter account.

Gov. Andrew Cuomo decided to stay in New York, hosting a Super Bowl Party at Bill’s Bar and Burger at Rockefeller Center.

Vendors were selling out of Giants gear, such as jerseys, shortly after 9 a.m. on Sunday, ABC 7 reported.
